Astribot, also known as the S1 robot, is a product of the Chinese tech company AstriBot Corporation, a subsidiary of Stardust Intelligence. The robot's name is derived from the Latin proverb "Ad astra per aspera," which translates to "through the arduous journey, to reach the stardust."[1]
The Astribot showcases significant developments in the field of humanoid robotics. It features impressive performance specifications such as a movement speed of up to 10 meters per second and a lift ability up to 10 kilograms, marking a notable stride in AI-controlled humanoid robots.[2] Astribot's parent company, Stardust Intelligence, was founded by Lai Jie, who also contributed to Tencent Robotics Laboratory, Baidu, and Hong Kong Polytechnic.
