Kayra
Kayra is an open-source 3D printable humanoid robot designed for modify-ability and easy assembly. The project files, including design files for freeCAD, can be found on the GitHub platform. Kayra's development is community-based, with goals to evolve the design in various directions.[1]
Kayra is designed to be 3D printed and assembled with minimal effort. Ideally, no soldering is necessary for assembly. The software for Kayra can be written in Python for the host and Micropython for the controllers. It also includes simulation software, enabling users to work on the project even without physical hardware. The cost for a minimal system is intended to be low, enhancing accessibility and encouraging community participation.[2]
Tutorial videos are available, providing real-time assembly instructions. For example, one recorded tutorial guides users through the process of assembling Kayra's left leg from printed parts, servos, bearings, and screws. The leg assembly can be completed within approximately 20 minutes.[3]
Please refer to the official Kayra website and its GitHub page for full details, shopping list, print instructions, and more.
